  • I remember Bill Jones, Uncle Bill to me. He had a daughter Angela Jones and a son Michael and for some reason, they called his wife Squibs.

They always had Au-Pairs, – gorgeous girls from Germany.

  • Loudon Place, above, a house previously owned by Charles Saatchi which featured in Sir John Betjeman’s 1973 documentary Metro-land, is now the residence of Vanessa Feltz.

  • Fantastic picture of the Star…my family moved into there in 1974, and left in 1985, I remember lots and lots from our time there, but my first memory was when we arrived and Bill Jones the previous landlord, had left a room, literally fully of dogs mess, yet it transpired that his dog had been deceased for quite a few years !!! my last memory was of packing my suitcase and travelling up the street to the Princess Royal pub, which we had taken over as part of the arrangement with the brewery, an arrangement which would come back to bite them !!! Happy Days !!!!
