Turn right along St John’s Wood Terrace

with its attractive Victorian houses, going past the pillars of the disused Congregational church, originally called the  Portman Chapel  and built by John Maidlow.   After about 120 metres you will find

St Marylebone  Almshouses

originally built in 1837 in a Gothic revival style,  with £500 bequeathed to the poor of the parish of St. Marylebone in the will of Count Simon Woronzow (1744-1832) who had been the Russian ambassador in London. The building was replaced in 1965 by one in a Neo-Georgian style. Across the road is the Adventure Playground, founded in 1957, and offers local children a chance to experience outdoor play and indoor crafts and games in the evenings and holidays.
